Learning Developer (Mathematics and Statistics, FST) Library Location: Bailrigg, Lancaster, UK Salary: £39,906 to £46,049 (Part-Time/Fixed-Term) Closing Date: Tuesday 08 September 2026 Interview Date: Friday 25 September 2026 Reference: 0783-26 Part Time (0.3 FTE), Maternity Cover (provisional end date 30/04/2027) We are seeking to appoint a Learning Developer with maths expertise to join our friendly and collaborative Learning Development team at Lancaster University. The team has a central hub in the Library with bases in the faculties. You will be responsible for the Maths and Stats Hub (MASH) provision for Year 1 modules in the School of Mathematical Sciences, and so should be competent in supporting student learning in all the following areas: Matrices, Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Logic, Discrete Mathematics, Symmetry, and Sequences. You will work under the guidance of the Head of Learning Development, teaching workshops, providing one-to-one advice, working closely with both MASH colleagues and the wider Learning Development team. You will collaborate with programme leads in the School of Mathematical Sciences to support embedded workshops within the curriculum and contribute to the creation of MASH learning resources. You will also collaborate with the MASH Learning Development team on centrally organised activities. We are looking to recruit an individual with a postgraduate qualification in Mathematics, a teaching qualification and/or relevant experience of teaching maths and statistics in higher education. You will have knowledge of the maths and statistics challenges facing first year undergraduate students. You will also be able to demonstrate evidence of working in a collegiate and supportive way with colleagues and students from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds. This post is a part- time (0.3 FTE), 8-month maternity cover fixed term contract with a provisional end date of 30/04/2027. We’re happy to discuss flexible working.
