Terms of Service

Effective date: 8 March 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Tenurify. By creating an account or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Tenurify ("we", "us", "our"), governing your access to and use of the Tenurify platform at tenurify.com and any associated services.

By registering an account, clicking "I agree", or otherwise using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you are acting on behalf of a university or institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that institution.

2. Platform Role & Disclaimer

Tenurify is a job listing platform, not an employment agency. We do not recruit, select, or place candidates. We do not guarantee employment outcomes.

Tenurify provides an online marketplace where universities and research institutions ("Institutions") post academic positions and candidates browse and apply. We act solely as an intermediary and have no involvement in the hiring process or employment relationship that may result from use of the platform.

We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any job posting. Institutions are solely responsible for the content of their listings, including compliance with applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws.

We do not guarantee that:

  • Any job posting is current, accurate, or legally compliant
  • A candidate will receive a response or interview from any institution
  • An institution will fill any advertised position
  • The platform will be available without interruption or error

3. Eligibility

To use Tenurify, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Not be prohibited from using the platform under any applicable law
  • Provide accurate and truthful information when registering

The platform is intended for use in Australia and New Zealand. Users accessing the platform from other jurisdictions do so at their own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

4. Candidate Accounts

As a candidate, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal and academic information in your profile
  • Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others
  • Notify us promptly at legal@tenurify.com if you suspect unauthorised account access
  • Use the platform only for legitimate academic job search purposes
  • Not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised account use where you failed to maintain credential security.

Your profile data — including academic degrees and research fields — may be used to generate job recommendations and match signals. Anonymous, aggregated engagement data derived from your activity (e.g. number of views on a listing) may be shared with Institutions as described in Section 8. Your identity is never disclosed to an Institution without your explicit action.

5. University Accounts & Obligations

Institutions accessing Tenurify ("University Accounts") must be registered higher education institutions, research organisations, or authorised agents thereof. By creating a University Account, the authorised administrator represents and warrants that:

  • The institution is a legitimate academic or research organisation
  • The administrator has authority to post job listings on behalf of the institution
  • All job postings are genuine, current, and accurately describe the position
  • Job postings comply with all applicable Australian and New Zealand employment laws, including the Fair Work Act 2009, the Equal Opportunity Act (state equivalents), the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, the Racial Discrimination Act 1975, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, and equivalent New Zealand legislation
  • Postings will not contain false, misleading, discriminatory, or unlawful content
  • The institution will respond to applications in good faith
Tenurify is not responsible for the conduct of institutions, including but not limited to discriminatory hiring practices, failure to respond to candidates, false job postings, or breach of employment agreements. Any disputes arising between candidates and institutions are to be resolved directly between those parties.

Institutions indemnify Tenurify against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from their job postings or hiring conduct. See Section 12.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not use Tenurify to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fabricated job listings or profile information
  • Discriminate against candidates based on age, sex, gender, race, religion, disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, or any other protected attribute
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract platform data using automated tools without written permission
  • Send unsolicited commercial messages to other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or platform systems
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Use the platform for any purpose other than academic recruitment and job search
  • Circumvent any technical measures we use to protect the platform
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate account suspension or termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain ownership of content you submit to the platform (job postings, profile information, research fields). By submitting content, you grant Tenurify a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform, including displaying job listings to candidates and sharing anonymised analytics with institutions.

Our content: All platform software, design, branding, text, and compiled data (including aggregated analytics) are owned by Tenurify or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission.

Feedback: Any suggestions or feedback you provide regarding the platform may be used by us without restriction or compensation.

8. Data, Analytics & Advertising

Anonymous engagement analytics

When you interact with job listings (views, apply clicks, saves), we collect engagement signals. This data is aggregated and anonymised before being shared with the posting Institution as platform analytics. No personally identifiable information is shared with Institutions through this mechanism. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised data about platform usage, including pages visited, session duration, and referral sources. Google may process this data on servers outside Australia. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising — Meta Pixel & Google Ads

We use Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure advertising performance and deliver relevant ads to users who have visited Tenurify. These tools may place cookies on your device and collect data such as:

  • Pages visited and actions taken on the platform
  • Device identifiers and IP address (hashed)
  • Behavioural patterns used to build audience segments for remarketing

By using the platform, you consent to the use of advertising cookies for these purposes. You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences via the cookie settings banner or your browser settings. Note that disabling advertising cookies does not disable ads — it only affects whether ads shown to you are personalised.

Meta and Google act as independent data controllers for data processed through their respective advertising platforms. Their privacy policies govern that processing:

Cookie categories

  • Essential cookies: required for authentication and platform security — always active
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): used to measure platform usage — active by default, can be disabled
  • Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads): used for remarketing — require your consent

9. Email Communications

By creating an account, you agree to receive the following emails:

  • Transactional emails: account confirmation, password reset, security alerts — these are required and cannot be opted out of while you have an active account
  • Job alert emails: notifications when new positions matching your saved searches or profile are posted — only sent if you opt in, and can be disabled at any time from your Profile settings
  • Platform updates: material changes to Terms, Privacy Policy, or service — required for active accounts

All commercial and marketing emails include a clearly visible unsubscribe mechanism in compliance with the LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018) and, to the extent applicable, the Australian Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Transactional emails related to account security (password reset, login alerts) are exempt from unsubscribe requirements as they are necessary for service delivery.

We do not sell your email address to third parties. Email addresses may be processed by our transactional email provider (Zoho Mail) solely for the purpose of delivery.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law and applicable legislation, Tenurify's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the platform is limited to AUD $100 or the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for any:

  • Loss of employment opportunity or failure to secure a position
  • Acts or omissions of any Institution, including discriminatory conduct, failure to respond, or withdrawal of a job offer
  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading content in job postings
  • Loss of data due to technical failure, provided we have taken reasonable steps to prevent such loss
  • Indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages of any kind
  • Interruption or unavailability of the platform due to maintenance, technical issues, or force majeure events

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), including guarantees relating to services supplied to consumers. Where such guarantees apply and cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tenurify, its directors, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, penalties, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Content you post on the platform, including job listings or profile information
  • Your violation of any applicable law, including employment and anti-discrimination law
  • Any dispute between you and another user or Institution
  • Your negligent or wilful misconduct

This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account.

13. Account Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that:

  • You have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy
  • Your account or content poses legal, reputational, or security risk to the platform or other users
  • You have provided false or misleading information
  • Required by law or court order

Upon termination by us, you may not create a new account without our written permission. We are not liable for any loss resulting from account termination made in good faith.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, without regard to conflict of law principles. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of São Paulo, Brasil for resolution of any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the platform.

The platform operates in Australia and New Zealand and complies with applicable Australian and New Zealand laws regarding employment listings. However, the legal entity operating Tenurify is incorporated in Brazil, and these Terms are governed by Brazilian law, including the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD — Lei nº 13.709/2018) and the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei nº 12.965/2014).

Before commencing legal proceedings, you agree to notify us in writing at legal@tenurify.com and allow 30 days for good-faith resolution. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief from a court.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you must stop using the platform and delete your account before the effective date.
