Tenure-Track Clinical Professor/ Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in the School of Public Health The University of Hong Kong Apply now Ref.: 537128 Work type: Full-time Department: School of Public Health (22400) Categories: Professoriate Staff Hong Kong Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Professor/ Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 537128), to commence as soon as possible on a four-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal, and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment on tenure terms. Applicants should possess a primary medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong and a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine (F.H.K.A.M. (Community Medicine)) or equivalent (e.g. F.F.P.H., F.A.F.P.H., F.R.C.P.(C) in Community Health, American Board certification in Preventive Medicine, etc.). They should demonstrate (i) proven ability to conduct quality research, publish in high-quality journals, and gain regional and international recognition for scholarship and professional expertise in public health practice initiatives; (ii) a track record or a strong commitment to teaching students at both undergraduate (especially MBBS) and postgraduate levels; and (iii) teaching and leadership in professional education programmes or community engagement. The appointees are expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research, publish research articles in high-impact journals, and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes; take part in teaching undergraduate (especially MBBS) and postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students; contribute to teaching and coordinating professional education programmes; conduct impactful community public health and knowledge exchange programmes, and perform administrative duties. The appointment rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The School of Public Health is committed to protecting and enhancing health for all people, through the synthesis of state-of-the-science research, the dissemination of knowledge through education and training, and effective evidence-based public health advocacy. The School is structured into six academic divisions: Behavioural Sciences, Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health Economics, Policy and Management, Kinesiology, and Public Health Laboratory Sciences. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable. The University only accepts online applications for the above posts.
