Casual opportunity providing research support and training across multimodality preclinical imaging equipment Located at Sydney Imaging, Core Research Facility HEO 6 $ $73.45 per hour plus super About the opportunity Sydney Imaging is a Core Research Facility that provides researchers with access to state-of-the-art preclinical and clinical imaging technologies. The facility supports a broad research community through specialist infrastructure, expertise, and training. We are seeking a Technical Officer (Preclinical Imaging) to provide technical and operational support for preclinical imaging research. Working with researchers, students, and staff, you will help deliver high-quality imaging services and support the day-to-day operation of the facility. In this role, you will: Provide technical support and training for users of preclinical imaging facilities operate and support imaging systems including PET, MRI, Ultrasound, Optical Imaging, microCT, DXA and EchoMRI. assist with imaging studies, data analysis and reporting support animal handling and in vivo procedures in accordance with approved protocols maintain imaging equipment, laboratory resources and quality assurance processes ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, animal welfare and University policies. About you Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience, in biomedical science, laboratory science, medical imaging or a related field experience working in a research, laboratory or imaging environment knowledge of one or more preclinical imaging modalities, such as PET, MRI, Ultrasound, Optical Imaging, microCT, DXA or EchoMRI. Demonstrated experience in image and data analysis, including technical report preparation is highly desirable knowledge of laboratory safety practices, including the handling of hazardous substances experience with laboratory procedures, equipment maintenance and animal handling/in vivo studies strong communication, organisational, problem-solving and time management skills the ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgement and attention to detail experience supporting research projects, experimental design, ethics applications, grant applications, scientific publications or research reporting will be highly regarded a commitment to ongoing professional development in preclinical imaging and laboratory techniques.
