Team Lead/Senior Counsellor, Bundoora Counselling Services Job No.: 570694 Work type: Fixed Term Full-time, Fixed term till 04/10/2027 Located at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus Generous package, including 17% Superannuation and a range of employee benefits Be part of a passionate and innovative team HEO8 – from $119,264 per annum + 17% Superannuation About the position The position of Team Leader & Senior Counsellor – Bundoora is responsible for providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership for the Counselling Service at the Bundoora campus and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, student-centred counselling and mental health services that promote the wellbeing, safety and academic success of the University community. As a senior member of the Wellbeing Services leadership team, the role also drives service innovation, contributes to strategic planning and continuous quality improvement, strengthens relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and fosters a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture. Mandatory Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have; Qualifications in Psychology (and registration with AHPRA) or Social Work (and eligibility for or current membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers ie AASW) and extensive post-qualification experience in the provision and management of counselling and/or psychotherapeutic services, including the management and overview of complex clinical problems and situations requiring immediate intervention. Demonstrated management and leadership skills with experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows. Extensive experience working in a high-demand service and the capacity to be flexible and responsive to the changing demands on the service and demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills. Ability to be responsible for program/system development and implementation and experience developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning. Comprehensive knowledge of policy, reporting and legislative requirements associated with the disciplines of Psychology and Social Work.
