Job Description
This role is for a Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Genomics Core, responsible for operating scientific instruments, supporting core services and research, coordinating with users, and providing technical advice. Applicants need a Master's degree or above in a related life science field and at least two years of relevant laboratory experience, with a passion for science and technology. Higher qualifications or experience may lead to the Senior Technical Officer appointment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate sophisticated scientific instruments to support core service and research
- Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics
- Provide technical advice to users
- Evaluate and validate new technologies
Requirements

- Master’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
- At least 2 years’ relevant laboratory work experience
- Strong passion in science and technologies
- Advantage but not necessary: Working knowledge of existing technologies and laboratory accreditation experience, and holder of Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Part I/II license issued by HKMLT Board
- Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, meticulous and enjoy teamwork
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English
- Competency in MS Office applications
- Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer
