Postdoctoral Researcher

This EPFL postdoctoral researcher position focuses on advancing data management techniques for data-intensive applications. Key responsibilities include conducting research on vector query processing, serverless execution, and data management on emerging hardware, with a strong emphasis on system development and publication. The role requires proven scientific excellence and a passion for database systems research.

• Work closely with all members of the lab carrying out excellent research
• Supervise students and collaborate with other postdocs
• (optional) Contribute to teaching (especially if interested in an academic career)
• Highly motivated with proven scientific excellence in the areas of vector query processing, serverless/just-in-time query execution, parallel and distributed data management, and data management systems on emerging hardware
• Passionate about inventing, building, and publishing quality database systems research
• A strong publication record and hands-on experience in system development are especially important
• The DIAS Lab team is renowned for its collaborative and nourishing culture, which supports the lab’s members since their first day in the team and long after their departure

• The contract is fixed for one year initially, renewable up to four years
