F ull time, 2 year fixed term position (with the possibility of extension) Located on the Camperdown Campus, University of Sydney Base Salary Academic Level A $117,936 - $125,896 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity Established as the first computer science department in Australia, the School of Computer Science (SCS) is research intensive and has a strong tradition of research-led teaching. The School offers undergraduate majors in computer science, information systems, data science and software development within its flagship Bachelor of Advanced Computing degree and combined degree programs with commerce and science. The SCS also offers postgraduate coursework degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Complex systems and the Master of Health Technology Innovation. We are currently seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Logical Foundations of Planning . In this role you will work closely with Dr Rubin on research projects, and contribute to the collegial culture of the Sydney Algorithms and Computing Theory group (SACT) in the SCS. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to attend flagship theoretical computer science conferences to present your work, and to mentor HDR and Honours students. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct high-quality research independently and collaboratively (with Dr Rubin) to advance the state-of-the-art of research in logical foundations of planning publish research outcomes in leading international conferences participate in the research activities of the broader SACT group (seminars, reading group, etc.) mentor graduate and undergraduate students adhere to and promote the University's health, safety, and ethical guidelines. About you We are looking for one Postdoctoral Research Associate in Logical Foundations of Planning who has: a PhD (or near completion) in computer science (or closely related fields) a solid background in theoretical computer science, mathematical logic, and automata-theory/formal-language theory proven capability for independent research, evidenced by high-quality publications excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to the collegial culture of the SACT group commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace an understanding of and adherence to university policies and procedures related to health and safety.
