A comprehensive understanding of tumor evolution requires integrating both genetic and non-genetic mechanisms. Thus, our research begins with the functional characterization of cancer-associated genomic alterations to determine how they reshape the structure and function of the epigenome. Over the past years, we have shown that remodeling the chromatin 3D structure is a key driver of tumor development and progression and demonstrated how specific genomic alterations reprogram the crosstalk between cancer cells and immune cells.
