Job Description
The Director, Grants and Proposal Development will lead institutional research funding mechanisms, including proposal development and grant management for government and non-profit sponsors. Key responsibilities include strategic direction, program growth, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance with funding agency requirements. Candidates require a Master's degree (or Bachelor's with extensive experience) and at least 10 years of experience in research administration with demonstrated leadership.

Requirements
- · Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in research administration within a research-intensive environment.
- · Minimum of 10 years of experience in pre-award and post-award research administration, grant proposal review, and funding agency relations, with a strong understanding of Tri-Agency (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) and Institutional grant programs and policies, as well as foundation, NGO, public sector and international funding mechanisms.
- · Demonstrated leadership experience developing and coaching high-performing teams, and fostering professional growth.
About This Position
What does this position pay?
The advertised salary for this role is CAD 135,128.5 – 168,910.62. The final offer within the band depends on qualifications and experience, as set by University of Waterloo's enterprise agreement.
