Job Description
The University of Hong Kong seeks a Senior Technical Officer in Bioinformatics to establish bioinformatics pipelines for multi-omics data analysis and implement AI/ML solutions. This role requires a PhD with at least 6 years of experience, strong programming skills in R/Python, and expertise in high-throughput sequencing data analysis. Experience in a bioinformatics core facility and AI application is highly advantageous.

Requirements

- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant work experience
- Strong hands-on experience in bioinformatics, including the analysis of short- and long-read sequencing data or multi-omics datasets
- Proficiency in R, Python or other relevant programming languages, with demonstrated experience in delivering technical training
- Knowledge of AI tools and hands-on experience in applying them to routine bioinformatics tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player
- Background or experience in a bioinformatics core facility is highly advantageous
