Capability Lead, Agile Practices 563412 Canberra / ACT, ACT, Australia, 2601 Fixed Term Closing at: Sep 27 2026 - 23:55 AEST Add to favourites View favourites Position Description Classification: Senior Manager 1 (Information Technology) Salary package: $141,637 - $148,403 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full time, Fixed term (up to 2 years) (flexible arrangements, job share, or part time hours will be considered) The Position The Capability Lead, Agile Practices will play a key leadership role in shaping and embedding modern delivery practices across Information Technology Services (ITS). Working closely with delivery teams, leaders and stakeholders, the role will lead the development, implementation and adoption of agile delivery, product management and portfolio management frameworks that support delivery of the ANU Digital Plan. Reporting to the Chapter Lead for Agile Practices, the Capability Lead will drive capability uplift across ITS through the design and delivery of training, communities of practice, guidance materials and targeted support. The role will also act as the Chapter Lead's deputy, providing leadership across the Chapter and contributing to its ongoing growth and maturity. Key Duties: Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of agile delivery, product management and portfolio management frameworks across ITS. Drive adoption of modern digital delivery practices through training, communities of practice, guidance materials and targeted support. Partner with leaders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and delivery teams to improve ways of working and delivery outcomes. Act as a trusted advisor and deputy to the Chapter Lead, contributing to capability uplift, organisational maturity and strategic initiatives. The Person We welcome applications from individuals who possess the following attributes: Demonstrated experience designing and embedding agile delivery, product management or portfolio management practices in a complex organisation. Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience building organisational capability through training, embedding common standards, facilitating communities of practice or other change initiatives. A pragmatic, collaborative approach with a passion for continuous improvement and enabling high-performing teams. About This Position
What does this position pay?
The advertised salary for this role is AUD 141,637 – 148,403, plus 17% employer superannuation. The final offer within the band depends on qualifications and experience, as set by Australian National University's enterprise agreement.
