Job Description
The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Education seeks a bilingual Assistant Professor in second language education for a replacement position from January 2027 to June 2028. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and directing the Professional Development Program and coordinating the Edutek program. A PhD in Education and experience in program management, teaching at undergraduate/graduate levels, and second language didactics are required.

- The specific duties for this position are associated with directing the Professional Development Program (PDP), and the coordination of the Teacher training in technology education (Edutek). Collaboration with the Francophone and Anglophone sectors of the Faculty is an important dimension of the position.

- Salary: The salary scale for an Assistant Professor begins at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).

Requirements
- Education: Ph.D. in Education or equivalent in a field related to the position
- Work experience: Excellent program management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in an interdisciplinary collaborative context.
- Candidates must also demonstrate the skills and openness needed to deliver courses in hybrid and online formats.
- Teaching and research experience in second language didactics.
- Assets: skills in entrepreneurship, pedagogical innovation, and partnership development.
- Full French-English bilingualism is considered essential.
