Job Summary The School of Health and Human Performance is situated within the Faculty of Health. The school offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in Health Promotion, Kinesiology and Recreation and Leisure studies. Reporting to the Director, the Administrative Manager manages all administrative functions required to support the infrastructure of the School including financial planning and administration, human resource management, some admissions and academic activities, information technology, research accounting, professional and alumni relations, project management as well as facilities management. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations and administrative functions of the School, including office systems, policies, procedures, records, facilities, and administrative support to the Director, faculty, staff, students, and committees. Provide administrative advice and support to the Director, including participation in management meetings, policy development, planning initiatives, problem solving, and preparation of briefing materials and responses. Oversee budget and financial administration for operating, salary, research, trust, endowment, annual giving, grant, and discretionary accounts, including reconciliations, reporting, signing authority, reallocations, and financial documentation. Supervise, train, schedule, evaluate, and support administrative staff, including recruitment, orientation, performance management, workload distribution, conflict resolution, and interpretation of relevant collective agreement provisions. Coordinate academic program administration, including student records, registration, timetables, examinations, degree audits, admissions information, grade submissions, course evaluations, calendar updates, accreditation materials, and committee approvals. Manage school-wide information technology and administrative systems by coordinating hardware/software needs, supporting system improvements, providing training, and acting as a resource to faculty and staff. The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree in business or related field, plus five years of progressively responsible experience in organizational, supervisory, and financial management (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Effective and demonstrable leadership skills are required, as are effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, multitask, make decisions and meet deadlines. Assets Experience working in a higher education or public sector environment.
